It reads whatever voices your browser and operating system provide via the Web Speech API, and defaults to the first English voice if one is available. The list varies by device and can be empty.

Two sliders control speed (0.5x to 2x) and pitch (0.5x to 2x), both apply the next time you press Speak.
Can I stop playback partway through?
Yes, the Speak button turns into a Stop button while audio is playing, clicking it cancels the speech immediately.
Does it work offline?
It depends on the voices. Voices installed on your device can work without a connection, but some browsers provide voices over the network, and those need internet access.
Can I save the audio as a file?
No. The tool plays speech in the page and does not create an MP3 or WAV download.
