How are arbitrary ranges handled?
The range must contain valid IPv4 addresses with the start at or before the end. The enclosing CIDR is the smallest single block containing both endpoints, even when it includes addresses outside the entered range.
Are leading zeros accepted in IPv4 input?
No. Strict dotted-quad input is used so malformed octets, empty sections, and trailing characters are rejected instead of being interpreted ambiguously.
